Process and Plant Capabilities

Principal Products: Stainless steel and other specialty steel sheet.

At Brackenridge, two electric arc furnaces melt stainless and other specialty materials for subsequent refining in a 125-ton argon-oxygen decarburization (AOD) vessel which feeds a continuous caster. Slabs and other specialty steel ingots are hot rolled on a six-stand hot strip mill for shipment to other plants. Brackenridge also finishes certain stainless steel, grain-oriented electrical steel and other specialty alloy sheet and strip.
