ATI and Oil & Gas |
The companies that comprise ATI have long played an important role in the Oil & Gas industry, delivering specialty metals solutions that have helped enable generations of advancement in exploration, development and production.
- In the 1920s, ATI was the first company to commercialize stainless steel in the U.S. – delivering a material that has long been critical to the oil and gas industry.
- In the mid 1980s, ATI's AL-6XN® alloy was used for the first high-strength, durable firewalls and fire suppression system for an offshore facility in the North Sea.
- In 2006, our proprietary ATI 2003™ alloy was used for subsea flow line for the Kikeh Field Development Project, offshore Sabah, East Malaysia. The Kikeh oil field operates in water depths of over three-quarters of a mile (1200m). About 9.6 miles (15.5km) of flow line systems were made with the ATI 2003 alloy.
- Today, ATI continues to invest in capacity and innovation to ensure it meets the needs of its oil and gas customers – both in on-time, on-spec delivery and with new innovations to help move the industry forward.
